I don't even have the words to express how amazing this place is! 2 years I decided to switch up my workouts and go outside of my comfort zone and I found myself taking Alison's women's kickboxing class. After the first class I was hooked! Not only does kickboxing keep you in great shape, it challenges you mentally and provides you with the ability to push harder! Alison is an amazing teacher, leader, and friend. I would highly recommend Thurston's Academy of Martial Arts to anyone who wants to be challenged and stay in great physical and mental shape!
Alison and Joe are the two most incredibly motivating and supportive coaches I have had the opportunity to learn from. If you want to see what a "judgement free zone" really feels like, take one of Alison's kickboxing classes. Alison and Joe are both incredibly positive, and will provide you with a physically and mentally challenging workout. They both take the time to get to know their students, and connect on a personal level. Within a few weeks of joining Thurston Academy, I was hooked. I now spend 5-6 days a week there (sometimes twice a day), and love every minute of it!
am in my eight year at Thurston Academy in the Women's Kickboxing Classes. Before Thurston I was sporadic at my workouts, never quite happy or satisfied with my results. This class is the best workout I have ever had; it's always different and challenging. Even after eight years, each class is tough, I am much stronger and my technique is better. I would highly recommend joining Thurston if you are not happy and looking for great results.
My daughter and I have been training here for a few years. A great environment for all - young and old alike. Joe and Alison Thurston are dedicated professionals and care about your well being, health and advancement. I highly recommend this as THE place to train.
My families experience at Thurston Academy has been amazing. My husband, Son and I all have been training here for over two years and feel blessed to have found this wonderful Academy with supportive, motivating instructors. The level of knowledge, caring and professionalism of Sensei Joe, Sensei Alison and their talented instructors is exceptional. The moment you walk in the door you can feel the vibe is nothing but positive and it’s across the board from the owners, staff and students. It’s a very welcoming and nurturing environment where you learn, work hard and get fit. We only wish we found them sooner!! Amazing place and Amazing people.
